A Conversation with Zach Miller
Zach is a fourth generation Miller, "I got into fishing because of my grandmother and great grandmother when I was 7 or 8. I got a license when I was in 7th grade. I had 30 traps and I was hand hauling out of my great grandfather's Carolina skiff with my grandmother." Zach Went to Universal Technical Institute for diesel engineering, and then came home and went fishing. "I love fishing. Your office view changes everyday, and it's a mystery what will come up with every trap. As soon as I set my gear I want to haul it!" In addition to fishing for lobster, Zach goes long lining for Cod in Alaska in the winter, and in early spring he'll be long lining for Halibut. "Fishing, it's really all I do!" About the Co-op: "I'm excited about the Co-op and am confident it will be good for the fishermen."
Favorite thing to do when he's not fishing: "Fish!" Last year Zach caught the second biggest Halibut in the State, measuring 67" and weighing in at 122 lbs.
